Greg took his first yoga class in 2001 while a student at the University of Ottawa. Two years later he began practicing Ashtanga yoga after moving to Victoria, where along with a few friends, he tried to learn Primary Series as best he could in the absence of a teacher. A workshop with Nancy Gilgoff that same year inspired him to commit to a daily practice. He made his first trip to Mysore in 2006, where he had the good fortune to spend three months practicing with Pattabhi Jois in one of his last years of teaching, and a further two months practicing with Sharath in what is now Saraswati’s shala. Over the next ten years he made eight trips to Mysore, including the 2014 Teacher’s Course. In 2011 he was granted authorization to teach, and assisted Sharath in the main shala. He has been running a daily Mysore program in Seoul since 2012.
Yujung began practicing yoga in 2003 and started her Ashtanga practice in 2007. After only a few months of practice, she traveled to Japan to attend Sharath’s Tokyo workshop. In 2008, she participated in Sharath’s Hong Kong workshop and, later that year, made her first trip to Mysore, where she stayed for three months. She returned to Mysore again in 2010 and 2011. The following year she received authorization to teach. She has made a total of seven trips to Mysore, including the 2014 Teacher’s Course. Yujung is currently working her way through the challenging arm-balancing section of the Advanced A series. She has been teaching Ashtanga yoga in Seoul since 2013.
